I am a barrister practising at Trinity Chambers in Newcastle and working across the country specialising in professional negligence litigation with a particular focus on financial services claims for individuals.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2010 at a national insurance practice and moved to what became a listed international firm. In 2018 I was Called to the Bar by Middle Temple to focus on where I am most effective – as an advocate and advisor.
My interests have been in litigation from the outset and I enjoy the technical challenges involved in litigation and resolving disputes. As such a lot of my law related posts relate to issues I encounter or hear of and am keen to explore.
As a born and bred geek I have been interested in the intersection of law and developing technology and may occasionally essay a comment on this.
When not wrestling with such legal concepts I can be found climbing up, falling off or looking in a perplexed fashion at a climbing wall; or falling off a boat into (usually) cold English water or sometimes warm seas.
If you want to get in touch I am chris@chrishegarty.com or for professional communications c.hegarty@trinitychambers.co.uk.
